Cookie Policy

GDPR and LSSI-CE compliance

1. What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded and stored in a user's browser when they access certain web pages. Cookies allow a website, among other things, to store and retrieve information about a user's or their device's browsing habits and, depending on the information they contain and how the device is used, they can be used to recognise the user.

2. Types of Cookies Used

This website uses technical and functional cookies. We do not use our own advertising or analytics cookies, nor third-party behavioural-tracking cookies (such as Facebook pixels or Google Analytics tags). The only exception is the map provider described below, which is loaded only on forms that include a map-location field.

The cookies that may be downloaded are as follows:

NamePurposeDurationOrigin
form_token_[formId]Functional cookie that stores an anonymous session identifier to save the form's conversational progress and allow it to be resumed.90 days (Persistent) or Session (Temporary)First-party
cookie_consentStores the user's cookie-consent preference (whether they prefer persistent or temporary cookies).1 yearFirst-party
__session, __clerk_db_jwt, __client_uatTechnical cookies from our authentication provider (Clerk), needed to coordinate sign-in and the account of the platform's owner-user. These are set on any page of the site, including this one, even if the visitor does not have and will not sign in to an account.Session / Clerk expiryThird-party (Clerk)

In addition to cookies, the browser stores the following data in its local storage, which is not sent to our servers:

KeyPurposeDuration
cookie_consentStores the choice made on the cookie banner (it also exists as a 1-year cookie).Until deleted
form_mode_[formId]Remembers the channel chosen (Classic, Chat or Voice) on that form.Until deleted
form_theme_[formId]Remembers the light or dark theme chosen on that form.Until deleted
form_it_voice_enabledRemembers the respondent's voice preference.Until deleted
mapbox.eventData (and similar)Anonymous identifier of our map provider (Mapbox), only on forms with a map-location field. Mapbox uses it, together with map telemetry, for its usage statistics; it is the only data of this kind loaded on the site and its processing is Mapbox's responsibility.Set by Mapbox

This data is needed to remember your choices, except Mapbox's, which is generated when the map is shown. You can delete it at any time from your browser settings.

3. Consent and Revocation

Since our own cookies are strictly technical and essential to provide the interactive chat service and save progress, they do not require prior blocking consent under the GDPR.

Even so, Form-it offers a premium consent banner where you can choose:

  • Accept: Cookies are saved as persistent files for 90 days in your browser, letting you come back at any time and keep filling in the form where you left off.
  • Reject persistent cookies: The form_token cookie will be created only as a temporary session cookie. This means you can fill in the form and chat entirely normally, but the session will be automatically deleted from your computer when you close the tab or browser, leaving no long-term trace.

4. Disabling Cookies Through Your Browser

Users can, at any time, allow, block or delete cookies installed on their device through the settings of the browser installed on their computer:
